Whilst we wait (very) patiently for the announcement that Scarlett Johansson will be getting her own Black Widow movie, the sultry A-lister looks to make her mark on an altogether different kind of franchise: Ghost in the Shell.
The celebrated cyber-futuristic manga series rom Shirow Masamune takes place in 2029 Japan and explores the adventures of cybernetic human Major Motoko Kusanagi, played in the movie by Johansson.
With Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders bringing to life a trippy, eye-popping Tokyo landscape and support from heavyweights including Oscar-winner Juliette Binoche, expectations are high for this live-action take to do justice to the influential series.
Check out some of the suitably psychedelic action in this new trailer, one teasing more acrobatics from Johansson and plenty of nightmarish futuristic imagery. Ghost in the Shell is released on 31st March 2017.
