Movie events don't get bigger than Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan's awe-inspiring staging of the world-changing Operation Dynamo.
For the first time the celebrated Dark Knight and Interstellar director turns his attention to a factual event, exploring the May to June 1940 evacuation of Allied soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk in France. It was a landmark occurrence in World War II that ultimately helped swing the balance of the conflict in the Allies' favour.
In a revolutionary move Nolan shot much of the movie in his beloved IMAX format, and it subsequently promises to be an eye-popping feast for the senses. Meanwhile the star-studded cast led by Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Harry Styles and Kenneth Branagh puts a human face on the action.
Check out the new trailer for Dunkirk, which hits Cineworld on 21st July.
