Last night saw our Unlimited screening of Kathryn Bigelow's harrowing and hard-hitting Detroit, the dramatisation of the real-life Detroit riots that engulfed the city in 1967. So what did you guys make of it?
Scott says it's in his top films of the year.
In my top 3 so far this year , a film everyone should see , gritty & suspenseful Boyega & Hoult on top form— scott bowie (@scottbsteel) August 8, 2017
Meanwhile Laura commends the movie's gritty atmosphere.
Amazing film incredibly intense and heartbreaking, not to be missed— laura sutton (@Littlesutty) August 8, 2017
And John says Oscar should come calling next year for Bigelow and the crew.
Very powerful movie, strong performances from all the cast, an Oscar contender for the awards in early March 2018— John Michael Dingley (@dante20171) August 8, 2017
Negatives? Beth says she enjoyed the movie but struggled with its length.
Intense, some really good scenes but on a whole the film felt too long. Spent too much time trying to set the scene, some stuff unnecessary.— Beth Evans (@Bethie1107) August 8, 2017
And Lyle believes the movie suffers by trying to pack in too much.
What did you make of last night's screening? Let us know @Cineworld and using #CineworldUnlimited. Detroit goes on general release on 25th August.
#DetroitMovie Too much info, not enough focus. In my opinion, naturally. It's good, but... yeah.— Lyle D4D (@LyleD4D) August 9, 2017
