The new Doctor unveils her new costume
Filming has finally kicked off on Jodie Whittaker’s first series of Doctor Who and the BBC has unveiled the new Doctor’s costume. It’s fair to say that the cossie has gone down well in Doctor Who fan circles – there are definite touches of older Doctor costumes in there (the long coat has been favoured by most of her predecessors, while the braces recall the Second, Sixth and Eleventh), and it’s kept the thrown-together, slightly eccentric vibe of the best Doctor outfits. We likey.
A few fans, however, did spot that it looked a little like the costume of another classic sci-fi favourite – Mork from Mork and Mindy…
Eternal Sunshine director helms new John Lewis Christmas advert
The arrival of the Christmas John Lewis ad is, it seems, as important to the festive season as pigs in blankets or the Queen’s Speech. Well, their latest ad has just dropped and it’s truly, tear-jerkingly brilliant. It’s directed by the kooky genius Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind, The Science of Sleep) and you can check it out below (just make sure you have a tissue with you)...
... Paddington saves the day in heartwarming Marks and Spencers ad
Arriving at the same time as the hotly-anticipated Paddington 2, M&S’s new advert features the marmalade-loving Peruvian bear on a mission to save Christmas. The ad is voiced by movie Paddington Ben Whishaw and directed by Daniel Kleinman who is also behind the title sequences of most of the James Bond movies since GoldenEye.
...And Star Wars star Ewan McGregor pop up in Debenhams’ one!
Ewan McGregor narrates and cameos in Debenhams’ Cinderella-inspired Xmas advert, a 90-minute ad themed around their “You Shall” campaign. It’s so Christmassy it looks like it could have been an outtake from Love Actually.

Headliner Ryan Reynolds tweeted the new poster with a cheeky message…
The cast of Murder on the Orient Express went on The Graham Norton Show last week to talk about their new film, and actor Josh Gad admitted that, during one scene when the characters are sizing each other up, they imagined that the question wasn’t “Who’s the murderer?” but “Who farted?” Click on the clip below to see their “Who’s farted?” faces…
We get our first look at M. Night Shyamalan's Glass
It’s been 17 years since Samuel L Jackson last played Elijah Price (AKA Mr Glass) in M Night Shyamalan’s superhero classic, Unbreakable. Now he’s back in this joint sequel to both Unbreakable and last year’s Split. Filming has just wrapped on Glass, also starring Bruce Willis and James McAvoy from each of the aforementioned movies, and it appears that Jackson’s character is still rocking the same lopsided Afro look. We can’t wait.
