It's official: 2019 is the year of film, and Cineworld Unlimited members know it too. In fact, we noticed that some Unlimited members set themselves the challenge to make full use of their Unlimited cards by seeing 100 movies in 2019.
So we thought we’d show you just how easy it is to complete the #100FilmsIn2019 challenge by listing just 100 of the epic movies heading your way this year. From comic book

- 24. Captain Marvel – The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) introduces its most powerful character yet in the form of Brie Larson's outer-space superhero. Flitting between Captain Marvel's
intergalatic adventures and her origins on Earth as pilot Carol Danvers, this is poised to be a sweeping story charged with more than a hint of nostalgia (it's set in the 1990s, so expect references to Blockbuster video and more). Plus, a de-aged Samuel L. Jackson features as Nick Fury – with two eyes, no less.
- 25. Everybody Knows – Acclaimed director of Iranian drama A Separation, Asghar Farhadi, returns with his new movie. Spanish stars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz team up for this story of an Argentinian woman searching for her abducted daughter while on a visit to Spain.
- 26. Fighting With My Family – the unlikely yet inspiring true story of Norwich wrestler turned WWE superstar Saraya Bevis (better known by the name 'Paige') comes to the screen courtesy of fledgling director Stephen Merchant and producer Dwayne Johnson (who also cameos). The terrific supporting cast includes Jack Lowden, Nick Frost, Vince Vaughn
and Lena Headey.
- 27. The Aftermath – Following her acclaimed appearance in Colette, star Keira Knightley adds another emotive historical drama to her resume. This World War II-set story is based on Rhidian Brook's novel of the same name, exploring the tension between a British soldier, his wife and the German all occupying the same building in the devastated wasteland of Hamburg in 1946. Jason Clarke and Alexander Skarsgard co-star.
- 28. The White Crow – Ralph Fiennes follows up his 2012 directorial debut
Coriolanus and 2013's The Invisible Woman with this ambitious staging of the life of Rudolf Nureyev, the Russian ballet dancer who defected to the west at the onset of the Cold War. Oleg Ivenko makes his striking feature film debut as Nureyev and Fiennes alsostars . - 29. Greyhound – Who can resist a new movie starring Tom Hanks? The Hollywood veteran brings his reliable screen presence to the gripping story of naval Commander Ernest Krause, who must chart a convoy of 37 Allied ships through the U-boat-laden North Atlantic during World War II. It's adapted from the novel The Good Shepherd by C.S. Forester (best known as the creator of Hornblower).
- 30. What Men Want – Remember the hit Mel Gibson/Helen Hunt movie What Women Want?
Well prepare for the gender-swapped version, as Taraji P. Henson's corporate high-flier suffers a bump on the head and discovers she can hear the thoughts of all the men around here. There's no denying the timely message, and it allows Hidden Figures star Henson the chance to demonstrate her comedic chops.
- 31. Dumbo – Disney's latest live-action remake comes from Edward Scissorhands director Tim Burton, who promises to redefine the story of the adorable baby elephant who can fly via his oversized ears. Dumbo this time is brought to life via the magic of cutting-edge CGI, and the all-star human cast includes Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton (who reunites with Burton for the first time since 1992's Batman Returns), Eva Green and Danny DeVito.
- 32. What They Had – An excellent cast comprising Oscar winner Hilary Swank, Michael Shannon and Blythe Danner lead the cast of this emotive family drama. Swank plays a woman who must return to her ailing mother's side in the feature film debut of filmmaker Elizabeth Chomko.
- 33. Miss Bala – Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke presents a tough remake of the 2011 Mexican action-thriller, in which a Los Angeles make-up artist ends up caught in the battle between the violent Mexican drug cartels and the machinations of America's DEA agents. Golden
Globe-winning star of Alex Garland sci-fi Annihilation Gina Rodriguez makes a bid for stardom in the lead role.
- 34. Us – In 2017, first-time director Jordan Peele
revolutionised the horror genre with his slyly subversive and very scary Get Out, an Invasion of the Body Snatchers-style chiller crossed with potent social commentary about liberal racism. His latest moviecentres on one black family's desperate fight for survival when confronted with their demonicdoppelgangers , starring Black Panther's Lupita Nyong'o on the lead role.
- 35. The Informer – Star of Netflix series Altered Carbon, Joel Kinnaman, toughens up again as an ex-convict who makes the decision to turn FBI informant. In order to gain information on a dangerous New York crime lord, he must go undercover in prison, in this adaptation of Roslund/Hellstrom's novel Three Seconds.
