Cineworld Cardiff played host to a very special event this week – an exclusive screening of the first two episodes from the new series of Doctor Who – 'The Magician’s Apprentice' and 'The Witch’s Familiar', as well as a Q&A with stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and head writer Steven Moffat.
The audience lapped up the double-part story, which sees the return of the Doctor’s arch-nemesis, the Master (now known as ‘Missy’), as well as the Daleks and head of UNIT Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, played by Jemma Redgrave.
While the first episode had already been seen at previews in England and Scotland, Cineworld Cardiff was the only cinema to screen the second episode. “We saved episode two for the Welsh,” smiled Moffat.
Doctor Who series nine debuts on BBC One on 19 September at 7.40pm.
