New Captain Marvel posters showcase cat Goose and more

Captain Marvel is the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and introduces the most powerful superhero in the franchise so far.

Enter Brie Larson's title character – caught in an outer space battle between alien races the Kree and the Skrulls, she begins life as human air force pilot Carol Danvers. The movie, directed by Half Nelson's Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, takes place in the 1990s and is an important stepping stone in the Marvel chronology.

To that end, we're introduced to a younger, eyepatch-less Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and we welcome the big screen return of Clark Gregg's S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson. A whole host of new posters have been released in anticipation of the film's release in March – even Danvers' pet cat Goose (actually a deadly alien being in disguise in the comics) gets his own showcase.

Featuring in order from top to bottom: Ben Mendelsohn's shape-shifting Skrulls villain Talos, Annette Bening's mystery character, Captain Marvel herself, Agent Coulson, Djimon Hounsou's Starforce fighter Korath (also seen in Guardians of the Galaxy), Gemma Chan's Star Force member Minn-Erva, Goose the cat, Nick Fury, Jude Law's is he/isn't he Mar-vell and Lashana Lynch's pilot Maria Rambeau.
