Find out what happened in the run-up to Blade Runner 2049

screen-poster

It's worth reminding ourselves that 30 years have elapsed between the events of Blade Runner and upcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049. So what could possibly have happened in those mysterious three decades?

The answers are forthcoming in this new short movie 'Nexus Dawn', the first of three that are set to cover the yawning chasm between 2019 and 2049.

Directed by Luke Scott (son of Blade Runner director Ridley), it introduces us to Niander Wallace (Jared Leto), a powerful individual who has sought to create a new strain of synthetic beings following the outlawing of Replicants (humanoid androids).

It seems Niander is being established as the primary antagonist of the new movie and his thirst for power looks set to expand the Blade Runner universe in interesting ways.

Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Dave Bautista and Robin Wright, Blade Runner 2049 hits our screens on 6th October.
