Few movies cast a shadow quite like Blade Runner.
Released in 1982 Ridley Scott's philosophical and engrossingly atmospheric sci-fi opus was that rarest of things: a movie that both complimented and built on its source novel (by Philip K. Dick), whilst singlehandedly redefining big screen depictions of the future.
It's hard now to look at a sci-fi movie without seeing the influence of Blade Runner's rain-drenched, fire-belching inferno of 2019 Los Angeles.
Nevertheless Denis Villeneuve has boldly strode into the breach with this October's sequel Blade Runner 2049, one that continues the human/android saga with returning star Harrison Ford joining man of the moment Ryan Gosling.
As one would expect from the director of Arrival, it looks suitably retina-scorching, filled with handsome visuals as this international TV spot demonstrates. Check it out below.
Blade Runner 2049 is released on 6th October.
