We're edging closer and closer to the release of The Lion King in July, and Disney are doing an excellent job of revealing the brand new voice cast piecemeal-style across the various trailers and clips.
We've already heard James Earl Jones as imposing lion patriarch Mufasa, a role he reprises from the 1994 original. And the bantering meerkat/warthog duo of Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, were heard singing 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' in the recent full-length trailer.
We've yet to hear the likes of Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) as the adult Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as the evil Scar, John Oliver as hornbill advisor Zazu or John Kani as mystical mandarin Rafiki. However one of the film's A-list ensemble has finally come into focus: Beyonce Knowles-Carter as the older Nala, eventual love interest of Simba and, as we all know, the character who teaches our banished king-in-waiting to grow up a bit.
Check out the following promo in which Beyonce's tones lend graceful urgency to Nala as she encourages Simba to take his place in the circle of life.
