Adventurer Bear Grylls makes his animation debut in Planes: Fire & Rescue

If you're stuck in the wilderness and don't happen to have one of our 'Ape-ocalypse' Survival Guides to hand, there is one other man you can rely on. He is of course Bear Grylls, survivalist extraordinaire and the man behind hit shows Man vs. Wild and Born Survivor: Bear Grylls. If there's a man who knows the nutritional value of grubs and which sticks you need to generate a fire, Bear is that person.

However, this year Bear faced what is possibly his greatest challenge to date – lend his vocal talents to animated adventure Planes: Fire & Rescue. In this sequel to last year's hit family animation, plucky Dusty Crophopper (voiced by Dane Cook) joins a squadron of planes dedicated to extinguishing forest fires.

Bear voices 'smoke jumper' Avalanche in the film – take a look at this behind-the-scenes featurette and watch him get into character! Planes: Fire & Rescue is released on 8th August (opening in Scotland on 1st August).
