Comic colossus Seth MacFarlane releases tie-in novelisation for A Million Ways to Die in the West

Seth MacFarlane – TV show creator (Family Guy), Oscars host (2013 Academy Awards), film director (Ted) and now… novelist?!

Yes, Hollywood’s cheekily irreverent Renaissance Man has now turned his attention to books, with a novelisation of his new film, A Million Ways to Die in the West, in which he also stars.

The movie, which co-stars Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried, is a comic Western about a gutless sheep farmer who is forced to “man up” after he gets into trouble with a notorious gunslinger.

The movie opens in the US on 30 May and in the UK on 6 June, but spoiler-lovin’ MacFarlane fans can get the lowdown on the film a full eight weeks before, when the novel is published on 3 March.

Comedy films rarely translate well into novel form, but if one person can pull it off, it’s sure to be Seth MacFarlane.

A Million Ways to Die in the West rides into Cineworld cinemas on 6 June.
