Go behind the scenes on 300: Rise of an Empire in new featurette

screen-poster

"THIS IS SPARTA!" Sorry. But whenever the spectre of Zack Snyder's movie 300 is raised, we come over all Gerard Butler. Adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novel, the ab-tastic, testosterone-fuelled 300 stormed the box office barricades in 2007 to gross more than $450 million worldwide.

So a suitably beefy sequel was always on the cards – and now we have it in the form of 300: Rise of An Empire. Zack Snyder hands directorial duties to Noam Murro in this story that acts as a sort-of-sequel to the first film, although Snyder describes it more as a "companion piece."

Take a look at this behind-the-scenes featurette in which Snyder, Murro and assorted members of the cast and crew discuss bringing Miller's vision to the screen once again. As before, it looks super stylised, ludicrously macho and head-hammeringly violent.

300: Rise of An Empire is released on 7 March 2014.
