Rusalka (Renee Fleming) is a water nymph who has fallen in love with a mortal Prince (Piotr Beczala). But Rusalka is invisible to all mortals. She longs to take on human form so that the Prince may see her and fall in love with her. She consults the witch Jezibaba (Dolora Zajick) who concocts a potion for Rusalka to drink that will turn her into a human. However, Jezibaba warns that should Rusalka be betrayed by the Prince, once in her human form she will be damned for all eternity. Undeterred, Rusalka decides to drink the potion... Award-winning soprano Renee Fleming returns to her signature role, delivering a spellbinding, enchanting rendition of the much-loved 'Song to the Moon'. Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts in Otto Schenk's haunting production of Antonin Dvorak's classic fairy-tale opera.
