A searing, multiple award-winning true-life drama charting the events leading to an incident that shocked America.
It's the last day of 2008. In the San Francisco Bay Area, 22-year-old African-American Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan) decides to get started early on his New Year resolutions. He's got a lot to do. Oscar intends to be a better son to his mother Wanda (Octavia Spencer), a better partner to girlfriend Sophina
(Melonie Diaz), and a better father to their adorable four-year-old daughter, Tatiana (Ariana Neal). But he quickly begins to realise that change will not come easily, and his day culminates in a tragedy that makes headlines around the world. In a career-making performance, 'Chronicle' star Michael B. Jordan portrays Oscar as a flawed, multi-faceted character. Co-produced by Forest Whitaker, 27-year-old first-time writer/director Ryan Coogler's compelling, naturalistic drama deservedly won the prestigious Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at last year's Sundance Film Festival.
