Synopsis

A feelgood award-winner charting the unlikely friendship between a rich quadriplegic and a young offender. Paralysed from the neck down after a paragliding accident, millionaire widower Philippe (Francois Cluzet) lives in a palatial Parisian apartment. Driss (Omar Sy) is an immigrant from the city's ghetto who's out on parole for robbery. He applies for the job of Philippe's live-in carer purely to ensure he continues to receive benefits, as he fully expects to be rejected. But Philippe finds Driss's streetwise irreverence and honesty engaging, and promptly hires him. So begins an unlikely cross-cultural friendship between the chalk and cheese duo. Based on a true story, 'Untouchable' has become one of the biggest French-language hits of all time, topping box office charts around the world to make a staggering $356 million! This extraordinary, uplifting phenomenon has also won awards at many international film festivals, including the French equivalent of an Oscar for breakout star Omar Sy.
