At the age of just sixteen Clareece 'Precious' Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) has already suffered unimaginable hardships. Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) is a 78-year-old retired balloon salesman and grouchy widower being forced to vacate the house he shared with his late wife. But rather than slink off quietly into a retirement home, Carl has bigger plans. He's embarking on an adventure to South America... and he's doing it without leaving his own front room! After tying thousands of balloons to the roof, Carl's house has lift-off and starts floating towards its exotic destination. However, over-eager junior Wilderness Explorer Russell (Jordan Nagai) has inadvertently come along for the ride, much to Carl's annoyance. But before long, they're sharing the adventure of a lifetime as they meet a talking dog, discover a rare flightless bird and ward off the advances of a dangerous enemy. Now all they have to do is find their way back home...

The immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) leads a colourful travelling theatre troupe that offers a unique experience. Audience members are given a chance to go beyond reality itself by passing through Parnassus's magical mirror. The Doctor has this ability to guide the imagination of others because of a deal he forged long ago with the Devil (Tom Waits) himself. But the Devil now wishes to collect on the arrangement, and resolves to take the doctor's daughter Valentina (Lily Cole) as payment. The troupe, which includes sleight-of-hand expert Anton (Andrew Garfield) and a dwarf named Percy (Verne Troyer), is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell). Now they must embark on a perilous journey through parallel worlds to rescue Valentina.

It's the phone call that every bride-to-be dreads - the one where the best man informs her that he's lost the groom: "What? We're getting married in five hours." "Yeah..." comes the reply, "That's not going to happen." It all begins two days before his wedding, when Doug and his three friends drive to Las Vegas for a bachelor party they'll never forget. However, when the three groomsmen wake next morning, they can't remember a thing, but their hotel suite is trashed and they find a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet. The one thing they can't find is Doug. With no time to spare, the trio must retrace their steps in order to figure out where things went wrong - and hopefully get Doug back to LA in time to walk down the aisle.

Horton the kindly elephant (voiced by Jim Carrey) has his life turned upside down when he thinks that he hears a voice coming from a speck of dust that no-one else can see. The voice in question belongs to the Whos, a tiny breed of people with their own society, led by the Mayor of Whoville (Steve Carell). Horton takes it upon himself to protect the Whos and their home, but this causes him nothing but problems as none of his neighbours can actually see the little folk, and so they don't believe that they exist - and the Mayor has a similar problem convincing the Whos of the existence of a giant altruistic elephant. Soon, everyone is asking if Horton has lost the plot? Will he give in to the ridicule, or will he stand by his motto, that "a person is a person, no matter how small"?
