  Nana Patekar and Suniel Shetty also star and, as the film is set in a school campus, it also features youthful actors including Swini from Cheeni Kum, Ali from Ta Ra Rum Pum and Dwij from Nanhe Jaisalme. Choreographer-turned-producer Ahmed Khan has been quoted as saying that Paathshaala is "the most lavish children's film made in India." According to Bollywood industry reports, Ahmed even constructed an enormous set to stand in for the fictional school at Mumbai's Film City. The set included classrooms, dormitories, staff rooms, a number of long corridors, a basket ball court, a garden, an assembly hall, a music room and a canteen. It sounds as though the producers are sparing no expense, so perhaps Paathshaala will be the perfect big-budget equivalent of Aamir Khan's recent classroom movie Taare Zameen Par.
