Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan star in a gripping true-life WWII espionage thriller. In 1942, the Allies launch the bold and daring Operation Anthropoid in occupied Czechoslovakia. Josef Gabcik (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubis (Jamie Dornan) are among seven men parachuted behind enemy lines on a mission to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich. Infamous as the 'Butcher of Prague', Heydrich is one of the chief architects of the Holocaust and third in command in the Nazi hierarchy after Hitler and Himmler. The duo join forces with the depleted local resistance led by Jan Zelenka-Hajsky (Toby Jones) and set about planning this seemingly impossible task in a city under lockdown. This thrilling and powerful drama is based on an extraordinary, little-known true story that changed the course of WWII in Europe. Sean Ellis, the British writer/director of 'Cashback', avoids gung-ho heroics as he builds tension towards a historically authentic, bullet-ridden climax that will linger long in the memory.
