Struggling Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar) dreams of becoming the best road contractor in his region. However, due to his lack of money and inability to bribe officials in municipal office, Sachin never manages to get any of his bills or contracts passed. This affects his relationship with his loyal but frustrated workers, who never get paid on time. Meanwhile, Sachin's brother is a very successful road contractor due to huge amounts of bribing and cheating, but the family has lost patience with Sachin, concerned that his mounting debts will shame them all. One day Sachin learns that a new commissioner has taken over the municipal office. He excitedly rushes there to establish good relations before anyone else can 'badmouth' him. But then Sachin discovers the new commissioner is none other than his former sweetheart Ganphule (Trisha Krishnan), with whom things ended badly...
