Suzanne (Kristin Scott Thomas) is comfortably married to handsome Samuel (Yvan Attal) with whom she has two lovely children. But when she meets Ivan (Sergi Lopez), an earthy ex-convict odd job man, their mutual attraction is sudden and violent. Their affair quickly escalates until Suzanne is faced with a shattering choice - should she return to her old life or surrender to this all-consuming new passion with Ivan? As her horrified husband begins to fight back as hard as he can, all their lives begin to spiral out of control.
