Puneet (Ajay Devgan) is a writer who lives in a cosy Mumbai apartment with his interior designer wife Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma) and their son. After years of toiling in the television world, he has finally got his break to write a film! The family are thrilled, but just as Puneet is dreaming of riches and glamour, the unannounced arrival of a long-lost uncle sends his life out of control. From a small village in North India, Lambodar Bajpai aka Chachaji (Paresh Rawal) is eccentric, headstrong, opinionated and old-fashioned. Sweet and accommodating Munmun places a high premium on traditional family values, but when Chachaji becomes unbearable, she puts her foot down and asks her husband to get rid of him. Puneet is forced to go against his placid and unassuming nature and devise schemes to get rid of the uninvited guest.
