Young Percy discovers his destiny is to prevent an epic war between the ancient Gods.

Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) is a kid whose only talent is an ability to stay under water for astonishingly long periods of time. At school, his teacher (Pierce Brosnan) lectures on the 12 Olympian Gods of Ancient Greece - especially the 'big three', the brothers Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, whose children were half-human and half-god. After another teacher transforms into a winged demon and attacks him, Percy is sent to the mythical 600th floor of the Empire State Building, where he finds that the Gods of Mount Olympus are real, and they've been expecting him. Discovering that his father is Poseidon (Kevin McKidd), the God of the Sea, Percy begins to adapt to his new life, but when the lightning bolt of Zeus (Sean Bean) is stolen, a terrible war between the Gods is threatened - and Percy and his friends have to prevent it.
