Mel Gibson returns to the big screen in a dark and compelling conspiracy thriller.
Single father Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a veteran homicide detective. When his only child, 24-year-old Emma (Bojana Novakovic), is murdered on the steps of his home, everyone assumes that he was the intended target. But Craven suspects otherwise, and embarks on a mission to discover how his daughter's secret life led to her murder. His investigation leads him into a dangerous world of corporate cover-ups, government collusion and murder. Along the way he encounters CIA operative Darius Jedburgh (Ray Winstone) who has been sent in to clean up the evidence. Craven's solitary search for answers about his daughter's death transforms into an odyssey of emotional discovery and redemption. Directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and based on the classic 1986 BBC mini-series, Edge Of Darkness is co-produced by Academy Award winner Graham King (The Departed, The Aviator) and Michael Wearing.
