An emotionally damaged detective is shocked to discover a link between himself and a series of murders.

Following the untimely death of his beloved wife, grieving detective Aidan Breslin (Dennis Quaid) has become withdrawn, bitter and increasingly distanced from his two sons. While seemingly in the depths of despair, Breslin is assigned a new and disturbing case. He is sent to investigate a chain of murders apparently based on the biblical prophecies of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - war, famine, pestilence and death. As Breslin attempts to come to terms with each new revelation in the investigation, he makes a shocking discovery that connects him with the prime suspects. Directed by Swedish music video wunderkind Jonas Akerlund (who also gave us 2002's Spun), this thriller boasts an impressive supporting cast including Ziyi Zhang (in her first English-language outing since Memoirs of a Geisha), Peter Stormare, Lou Taylor Pucci and Eric Balfour.
