Director Michael Mann brings notorious bank robber John Dillinger back to life in this slick cat-and-mouse thriller.

It's the 1930s and America is in the depths of the Great Depression. But the suffering American public find an unlikely hero in charismatic bank robber John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), whose audacious heists, thrilling jailbreaks and lightning-quick getaways earn him an infamous reputation and the moniker 'Public Enemy Number One'. It's going to take an equally brilliant man to outwit and outmanoeuvre the smooth criminal and FBI boss J Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) has just the agent. Known as 'the Clark Gable of the FBI', Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) assembles a group of agents to track down America's most wanted but soon finds himself outgunned in a series of thrilling shootouts and gripping chases. But Dillinger's luck looks set to change when the FBI drafts in a band of ex-lawmen to corner their target...
