Zack '300' Snyder brings the ultimate graphic novel to the big screen.
It's the USA in 1985 - but it's a slightly different world to the one we knew. Because this is an alternate universe where costumed superheroes are par for the course and the 'Doomsday Clock' - which measures the tension between the USA and the Soviet Union is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the masked vigilante known as Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) suspects a conspiracy. He uncovers not just a plot to kill and dishonour all superheroes past and present, but also an insane plan with catastrophic consequences for the future. Rorschach must now round up all his former crime-fighting friends a bunch of retired superheroes of which only one has any real powers and arm them with the mission to watch over humanity. The question is who's watching over the Watchmen?
