A chance encounter between a businessman and a 'working girl' leads to the greatest romantic comedy of all time!

When billionaire businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) gets lost driving to his Beverly Hills hotel, he stops to ask fresh-faced hooker Vivienne (Julia Roberts) for directions. Jumping in the car to show him the way, Vivienne charms Edward into hiring her for the rest of the evening. The next morning, Edward decides he could use an escort for the rest for the week and hands Vivienne £3000 to stick around. He also sends her on a shopping spree but Vivienne is left distraught after being humiliated by the snooty saleswomen on Rodeo Drive. After Edward accompanies her on a triumphant return to the shops, they spend the night talking and begin to fall for each other. As Vivienne shows Edward that there's more to life than making money, what began as a business transaction blossoms into a fairytale romance.

    Screenplay: J F Lawton
