Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) is a 78-year-old retired balloon salesman and grouchy widower being forced to vacate the house he shared with his late wife. But rather than slink off quietly into a retirement home, Carl has bigger plans. He's embarking on an adventure to South America... and he's doing it without leaving his own front room! After tying thousands of balloons to the roof, Carl's house has lift-off and starts floating towards its exotic destination. However, over-eager junior Wilderness Explorer Russell (Jordan Nagai) has inadvertently come along for the ride, much to Carl's annoyance. But before long, they're sharing the adventure of a lifetime as they meet a talking dog, discover a rare flightless bird and ward off the advances of a dangerous enemy.
